PLAYABLE VERSIONS / FIELD GUIDE 01
Verity Minecraft Mod: Versions, Downloads & Comparison
The original Verity videos were a scripted Minecraft horror series, not footage of a public mod. Playable adaptations now exist, but they are separate projects with different files, platforms and setup requirements.

DIRECT ANSWER
Yes, you can play a version of Verity
Java players can use Verity JE, whose project page describes it as an adaptation created with explicit permission from ThatMob. Bedrock players can use PnTMC’s community add-on. These are not the file used to create the original videos.
Treat every project as platform-specific. A Java .jar cannot be imported into Bedrock, and a Bedrock .mcaddon is not a Java mod.

Original concept vs playable projects
| Project | Identity | Platform | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ThatMob Verity series | Scripted horror / ARG videos | Video | Story and lore |
| Verity JE | Permission-based Java adaptation (per project page) | Java 1.20.1 / Forge | Closest interactive AI route |
| Verity — Bedrock Edition | Community add-on by PnTMC | Bedrock | Windows and mobile Bedrock players |

Choose by device, not by hype
| Route | Typical device | File | Extra setup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Java | Windows / macOS / Linux | .jar | Forge profile; AI setup |
| Bedrock | Windows | .mcaddon | Import packs; Beta APIs may be required |
| Mobile | Android / iPhone / iPad | .mcaddon or launcher route | Device-specific |

Our practical recommendation
- Choose Java if you use a desktop computer and want the most feature-rich adaptation.
- Choose Bedrock if you play the Windows Bedrock release or want a simpler add-on import flow.
- Choose Mobile if your device is the deciding factor; the guide will route Android and iOS separately.
- If a listing’s version, author or platform does not match this guide, stop and re-check the source page.
